Shell contours

Colour plots of shell stress resultants.

With shells in a 3D model, Shell stress resultants colours the shells by one of eight resultants: Nx, Ny, Nxy, Mx, My, Mxy, Qx and Qy. Values are per unit length in the shell's local axes.

Gauss-point values are extrapolated to the corners and averaged at shared nodes. The scale runs blue, cyan, green, yellow, red. Tick Plot on deformed shape to draw the contour on the deformed mesh.
